Coarse Salt1 part
Coarse Black Pepper1 part
Garlic Powder0.5 parts

Preparation

  1. Mix salt, pepper and garlic powder.
  2. DO NOT apply in advance — salt draws moisture from ground meat and changes the texture.
  3. Season the burger JUST BEFORE it hits the grill.
  4. Press gently — less is more: let the meat and the char do the talking.

Notes

Season just before the patty hits the grill, not earlier — salt drawn out too early pulls moisture and changes the texture of ground beef. Less is more for a quality patty; let the beef and char speak.
